About Us
Turtle Rest and Retirement Villa is an Incorporated Non-Profit
Organization. We have three seats on our Board of Directors. Our
Mandate is to better the pet turtle and turtle owners situation in the
Province of Newfoundland through aid, resources, education and
general assistance. We work to prevent the wild release and/or
destruction of these wonderful creatures. We provide assistance to
Town and City Humane Services and the SPCA province-wide, as
well as both Provincial and Federal Departments of Wildlife.
Currently, we are home to 56 turtles of varying species. We are
funded 99.0% by our Vice President, Tanya Constantine. The
remaining 1% is generated through sales of used equipment,
Adoption and Surrender Fees, fundraising and donations. All
shelter maintenance and office duties, including website design
and maintenance are carried out by the Founder, President and
Director of Operations, Dennis Oliver. We certainly cannot forget to
mention our Directors in Training, Justin Janes and Corrina Cake
who assist in ALL aspects of Turtle Rest and Retirement Villa Inc as
requested. Tara Humber is our newest team member as the
manager of our second branch located in Botwood, serving the
Central region of Newfoundland.
